Favorite Tropical Salads



Pineapple with Basil
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Flavor: Tropical
Serves: 4
1/2 fresh pineapple, ripe (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, or to taste
2 tablespoon fresh basil leaves, chopped; plus whole or sprigs for garnish
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar

Peel and core pineapple. Cut pineapple decoratively into bite-size pieces.

Gently toss pineapple with lemon juice and chopped basil in a large bowl. Lightly dust with cinnamon and sugar.

Serve pineapple garnished with basil sprigs.
